The dust might have settled in the pitch row but the Eden Gardens 22-yard-strip is going to sport a clean-shaven look on the morrow for the third Test against England as the groundsmen have mowed down the little grass left.
In a development that took place moments after the Englishmen left the ground after their match eve practice, the groundsmen mowed down the 4 millimeter grass patch on the pitch before covering it.
But Eden curator Prabir Mukherjee vehemently denied saying,"We have not touched the pitch today. It's the same as it was yesterday."
The development comes a day after MS Dhoni and CAB chief Jagmohan Dalmiya were seen together on one dias.
Meanwhile in a promotional event Sourav Ganguly urged India to focus on their game without thinking much on the pitch controversy.
Ganguly said it would be better for India to keep their mind away from the wicket controversy.
"It will be good for India if they keep out the wicket factor from their mind. India need a good wicket, the chances will be more. I'm sure these factors will go away once the Test starts."
Ganguly also defended the 83-year-old Eden curator and said he's always been like that.
"He never listens to anybody. Even when I was the captain he would never listen."
Kapil Dev said media had made mountain out of a molehill of the queering pitch row.
"The media has blown it out of propotion, it's a small issue. Captain is right in asking for home advantage. We should work together and there should not be any ego clashes. Country should always come first," Kapil said.
