The Station House Officer of Inderpuri police station, Ramesh Kumar, was reportedly beaten up along with a few other police officers, by a family from the locality after he allegedly sought money from a child.

The incident came to light on Monday, when a family living in a JJ colony, alleged that their 11-year-old son Kanwaljeet was beaten up by the SHO after he was refused money.

Irate members of the family reportedly beat up the policemen.

The Delhi Police, however, denied the allegations and said that Kanwaljeet was beaten up by some other person belonging to the locality. He has been identified and will be arrested soon.

A case has been registered at the Inderpuri police station and further investigations are on.
