Song’s late strike helps GCGC-42 draw match
If Neha Pandey’s goal opened the account for DAV Club, Sector 8, then K Song Kumari’s late strike earned her team Government College for Girls Club, Sector 42, a 2-2 draw in the opening match of the Chandigarh Women Football Championship for the Deepak Kampania Trophy at the Sector 17 Football Stadium on Tuesday. Defying the chilly air that had enveloped the stadium, the teams started on a bright note and played attacking game. It was Neha Pandey who opened the account for DAV Club in the 14th minute. However, Government College for Girls Club-42 hit back and restored parity in the 32nd minute when K Song Kumari caught the DAV Club defence on the wrong foot. DAV Club forged ahead again through Neha Pandey in the 67th minute. However, K Song Kumari once again came to Govt College for Girls Club-42’s rescue when her goal two minutes later helped the team finish the game at 2-2.
