An Indian origin woman has been accused of allegedly murdering her two teenaged daughters to get back at her ex-husband after being consumed by jealousy over his new girlfriend.
Rekha Kumari-Baker, 41, stabbed to death both Davina, 16, and Jasmine, 13, in a "frenzied knife attack" after creeping into their bedrooms while the girls slept, according to 'The Sun' online.
After the incident, she rang a special constable friend and told her, "I've done something terrible. I've killed the kids.
"I've been thinking about it for days. I just woke up and decided I was going to do it there and then."
Davina was stabbed 39 times all over her body. Baker, then attacked her younger daughter in a similar fashion.
Before the murder Kumari-Baker took the girls shopping so that they remained in the house with her that fateful day, the report said.
Kumari-Baker delayed the killings for a day after Davina texted her thanking her for the outing and adding, "I love you with all my heart and always will."
Special constable Natalie Boyes-Bartlett after the spot found Kumari-Baker crying.
Boyes-Bartlett said, "I asked if the girls had struggled. She said 'No' but Davina had fallen on her knees. Jasmine was lying in bed."
Prosecutor John Farmer during trail said Kumari-Baker and ex-husband David Baker, 44, began a "tug-of-love" over the girls after their divorce.
Kumari-Baker was going through a bad phase after she lost her job and was dumped by her boyfriend. She was angry that her ex-husband's new relationship was going well.
