‘India not rising,it has already risen’

“We live in a globalised world that has its unique challenges at varied socio-economic levels.

With the size of the Indian economy expected to rise by one to two trillion as per estimates of the members of the Economic Advisory Council of the Prime Minister,India is no longer a rising power. It has already risen,” said K Kasturirangan,member,planning commission,and former director,Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).

He was in the city for the 12 th convocation of Bharati Vidyapeeth Deemed University,Pune. Shivajirao Kadam,vice-chancellor of the university,in his address to the students also talked about the launch of a post graduate course in nano-technology in collaboration with the Joint School of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology,North Carolina A and T State University.

Students who received their degrees were from various streams of pharmacy including masters in pharmaceutical biotechnology,pharmaceutical chemistry,and pharmaceutics,as well as various Ph.D students.
