  • Pakistani cricketers Kamran Akmal and Sohail Tanvir, who were to play for Rajasthan Royals in the Champions League Twenty20, are safe in their team hotel in Mumbai.

Both the players have told their relatives in Pakistan that they were out of harm's way in the aftermath of terror strikes in Mumbai.

"After hearing the news, my father called me and I told them about my safety and although it was frightening," Akmal said.

Akmal and Tanvir had gone out for dinner when the attacks began and they were told to return to their team hotel immediately.

"It was frightening to listen what happened in Mumbai and we are now waiting for instructions from the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and from Royals team management before moving on," Tanvir told a cricket website.

Tanvir said the situation was comparable to what is happening in Pakistan and hoped the game must go on in India as well as in his country.

"We are in a similar boat and both countries have to support each other. We hope things get better and cricket will go on. The same thing should also happen in Pakistan, where people fear to travel."
