In a significant step forward in bilateral relationship, India and the US tonight agreed to enter into an understanding on end-use monitoring agreement that will pave the way for greater defence cooperation as New Delhi conveyed its decision to locate two nuclear parks for American companies.

After a hectic day of meetings with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and External Affairs Minister S M Krishna, US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton announced that the two countries have agreed to enter into a strategic dialogue based on five pillars of cooperation.

The Prime Minister will make his first state visit to Washington during the Obama administration on November 24.

“We share a common trait by rolling up our sleeves and get things done. We have shown progress also by finalising important agreements today including the end user agreement that will pave the way for greater defence cooperation between our countries and technology safeguards agreement,” Clinton told a joint press conference with Krishna.

US playing it safeBy: Sanoop Kottontavida | 21-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward US by not signing the agreement that will pave the way for Indian procurement of US Defense technology and equipment and making India to sign End user verification of all the defense weapons procured by India from US, is making sure that US doesn't want to give anything to India but want to have a more authority on India's defense weapons.
IndianBy: chander | 21-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward India must have good relations with USA as good friends and partner. Since India and China are the regional power in asia. To make the balance in asia from China we must have go defence relation with USA and Europe. Vi must take care from China. China is the most silent and dangerious country for India. If vi have wars and troubles with Pakistan it is just because China as big suplier of wepions and another tech.ro pak. China wants India busy with pakistan on Kashmir issue and push indirect pak to supply terriorism in India. Remember It cost a lot. India must open Som Islands for joint military base with USA and have special agriments for indias favour against China as emerging power. India must Open there Laksmi Islands for tourism. Both can give us Businesincome.USA need partner in the commeing yers and India is the best for them now because they have lend lot of money from China. India must open our market for our friends and Europe. Now we have the markeet and Technoligy.
Strange languageBy: K.Vijayakumar | 21-Jul-2009 Reply | Forward "In a significant step forward in bilateral relationship, India and the US tonight agreed to enter into an understanding on end-use monitoring agreement that will pave the way for greater defence cooperation as New Delhi conveyed its decision to locate two nuclear parks for American companies" Strange language this, which nobody can understand. Perhaps that is the idea. Doesn't people of this country a right to know what exactly is going on between India and the US? Doesn't the media have a duty to find out what is going on and report to the public?
