  • As India and the US try to take forward their bilateral relationship, a flurry of visits between the two countries is in the offing. US Under Secretary of State for Political Affairs William Burns flew down to Mumbai, where he met industry captains including Ratan Tata in the hope of finding ways to expand the economic relationship. He is also testing waters ahead of US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton's visit in July third week. More official visits are expected in between and PM Manmohan Singh will also be meeting US President Barack Obama on the margins of the G8 meet in Italy early next month. However, despite all the hectic meetings, the word out is that conclusive results are still some distance away.
