India’s Essar Group is looking for oil and gas assets in Africa and Southeast Asia,a senior official of the group told reporters.

We are not looking for rank exploration asset,where proper data is not available. We want either proven or near-development discoveries,the official,who did not want to be named said. India has one of the biggest consumer market for petro products.
