Infosys on Tuesday announced that it would expand its US operations with a new 125-seater delivery centre in Wisconsin to support local clients such as motorcycle maker Harley Davidson.

Infosys has 17 centres in the US and expects to hire up to 2,000 local employees this year. The new facility will be operational later this year and will provide end-to-end technology, consulting and systems integration services, besides housing a training centre.

"It is critical for Infosys to create global hubs of talent, and the Midwest is a key region with a number of our important clients," said Ashok Vemuri, head of the Americas and member of the board at Infosys.

Infosys said that its five-year contract with Harley Davidson was the main reason for locating the new centre in Milwaukee.
