  • The Chandigarh Group of Colleges (CGC) has set up Punjab’s first integrated campus at Gharuan village in Mohali. The campus will offer multi-discipline courses in engineering, computer applications and business management from the coming academic session.

The campus was established under a scheme of All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi, which had recently invited applications from leading educational groups to set up integrated campuses offering multiple courses under the same roof.

CGC chairman Satnam Singh Sandhu said that based on the pattern of university system in the country, AICTE wanted students to be able to opt for various professional courses at one institution.

“AICTE has granted approval to Punjab’s first integrated campus of CGC at Gharuan, which will offer BTech degree in computer engineering, electronics and communication engineering, mechanical engineering and electrical engineering besides postgraduate MCA and MBA courses,” he said.

The integrated campus will also offer various other job-oriented courses in the field of animation, hotel management, airlines, tourism and biotechnology.
