The fire at the IOC fuel depot in Jaipur raged for the fourth day on Sunday spreading to the roof of a nearby private building even as two more bodies were recovered pushing the toll in the devastating blaze to 10.

The Rajasthan High Court also held a special hearing on a PIL alleging that the state government has failed in disaster management as it has not been able to control the fire.

The fire spread to the roof of the building of a private electronic and instrument company 'Genus', 200 metres from the IOC complex wall, at about 0700 hours, chief fire officer Ishwar Lal Jat said.

However, firemen present there could extinguish the flames within two hours, he said.

Genus Overseas Ltd was one of several companies near the site, the premises of which were badly damaged, he said, adding, there was no casualty as no one was present there.

Fire died out in six of the 11 storage tanks since yesterday while it continued to blaze in five tanks which included that of petrol and kerosene, he said.

The charred bodies spotted in the wee hours of the day near one of the burning tanks were recovered later and identified as those of Kriparam Meena and Ramniwas both of whom worked as chargemen at the depot, Inspector General of Police (range) B L Soni said.

It will possibly take about one more day for the fire to die out in the burning tanks, he said.

With the recovery of the two bodies, the official toll in the IOC fire has risen to 10, the IGP said.
