  • Bahadur said Thakur had not sought permission from his immediate senior officer before opting for the course. He added that there was a deficiency of IPS officers of SP rank in the state and that he may only get leave for a year. Thakur challenged the order. The tribunal then asked him to make a fresh representation before the state government through the Principal Secretary (Home) along with certain conditions and ordered the government to decide this representation within three days. It was then that the government sanctioned him a two-year leave.

COURTS AND CASESBy: NIRANJAN | 21-Jun-2009 Reply | Forward IT IS A SHAME THAT SUCH A SIMPLE MATTER ABOUT AN IPS OFFICER'S EXTENDED LEAVE HAS TO BE SETTLED BY A COURT. IT SEEMS THAT IT IS A TREND TO TAKE ANY DISPUTE TO COURT. NO WONDER OUR COURTS ARE JAMMED WITH SUCH SILLY CASES AND THE REAL CASES TAKE YEARS TO COME TO COURT.
