Irked flat owners join hands to get promised deal

“Phase II of 120 flats is still incomplete with pending civil,electrical and plumbing work. The condition of my flat is the same for the past one year,although I made full payment,” Roy said.

“None of us have been given legal possession. Around 120 flat owners in Phase I,including me,have received only handover certificates when the builder handed over the keys. No sale deed has been completed,” said Sonali Shrikhande,who had booked two flats,one 3BHK in U building and 2BHK in X building. Around 80 percent of them have given full payment. “The main attraction was the smart card based access,monitoring visitors at the doorstep,video surveillance,emergency call and sms,auto detection of cooking gas and tap water,” said architect Shubhada. The project included a clubhouse,gymnasium,swimming pool,children’s play area,senior citizens’ park,creche,piped gas and garden.

“All digital amenities,swimming pool,garden,water recycling facilities are incomplete,” said Meghana Behere,who had booked two flats.

Tired of follow-ups with the builder,some owners in phase I are staying in incomplete flats. Mohan Dhene,one of them,said: “We are still paying EMIs. Why should we pay rent somewhere else and suffer a double setback because of this delay?” Satish Mittal,partner of Bharati Developers,said,“I agree work on two facilities — swimming pool and garden — is incomplete because of water scarcity. As far as digital amenities are concerned,we have not received any complaints from flat owners.”
