Ishant scalps four as Delhi-Himachal tie ends in draw

  • Delhi fought back well after a first innings collapse even as their Ranji Trophy Super League match against Himachal Pradesh ended in a draw after an action packed final day here today.

    Faced with a target of 217 for outright victory, Himachal Pradesh crumbled in the face of some fine bowling by pacer Ishant Sharma (4-44) and ended the day with 83 for five.

    Big win for Bengal

    SILIGURI: Riding on their pace power, Bengal romped to a nine-wicket win against Punjab here. The trio of Ranadeb Bose, Sourav Sarkar and Ashok Dinda took three wickets each to bowl Punjab out for 315 in their second innings. Resuming at 64 for 1, still 208 behind Bengal, Punjab got the taste of things to come as Bose struck in the very first over.

    Only Sunny Sohal went on to score 95, but it went in vain. He could only prevent an innings defeat, which could have given Bengal a bonus point.
