Rashtriya Lok Dal chief Ajit Singh has done it again. After assuring the BJP of a tie-up for the Lok Sabha polls in Uttar Pradesh, the Jat leader is having second thoughts. He is reportedly keeping his options open for an alliance with the Congress-Samajwadi Party combine. The BJP is naturally worried. One immediate problem is the Ghaziabad seat. The party had announced the candidature of president Rajnath Singh from the seat — and he had eagerly accepted it — comfortable in the belief of getting the substantial “Jat” vote with the RLD’s help. Now that may not be a given.
