  • Economic slowdown may have had a cascading effect across the industries but during this period the Pune IT sector has shown the lowest attrition rate compared to other cities. Two different surveys carried out by recruiting firm TeamLease and job portal Naukri.com claim that IT was the highest growing sector in the city.

According to the latest TeamLease report that graded various cities, Pune led the country in net employment outlook, registering an increase by seven points against Mumbai that showed a rise by only two points, even as Bangalore had a de-growth by 7 points.

“The employment outlook for the current quarter maintains its cautious optimism. We expect to see some additional increase in hiring activities around fourth quarter (January-March 2010). The industry is overall upbeat about the business and this will translate into improved hiring in the next six months. Senior level positions are opening up and gradually we will see opening at mid and entry level positions as well,” said Surabhi Mathur Gandhi, general manager, TeamLease Services Pvt Ltd.
