Made famous by their delicious smoothness and a flavour, which is difficult to fathom, unless you have tasted one yourself, crepes have been the favourite of both the young, always looking for culinary gratification and the not-so-young, who also do the same, for generations now. And so have waffles, famous for their delectable crispiness and the various avatars they can be served in.
So, if you were wondering just where can you get the real deal on crepes and waffles in the city, Hotel Studio Estique, next to Inox, is the place to head, as this uber-chic hotel is playing host to The Crepes and Waffles Festival, from October 23 to November 22.
“If you want to give your family a memorable treat, make them indulge in Crepes and Waffles. Although usually served for breakfast, waffles and crepes can also be served with meats and vegetable, for brunch or dinner and also as dessert,” says Kavita Amarnani, general manager, Hotel Studio Estique.
Made in a whole range of toppings and fillings, crepes and waffles are served with cole slaw and French fries, making for a complete meal in itself. “A choice of whole wheat, multi-grain and regular crepes and waffles is available at this month-long festival. Available a la carte, it is priced at Rs 200 for vegetarian dishes and Rs 225 for non-vegetarian dishes,” informs Amarnani.
With such varied choices as Chicken Sausages in Honey Barbeque Sauce, Beef Stroganoff, Chatpata Lamb Kheema and Spicy Tuna ‘n’ Tomato for non-vegetarians and Creamy Mushroom ‘n’ Cheese, Corn ‘n’ Spinach, Paneer Tikka Schezwan and Roasted Bell Pepper and Paprika for vegetarians, there’s something to satiate the craving of everyone at this food festival, which offers a double delight of two most famous, classic French dishes.
