J&K police brass reshuffled

  • The Jammu and Kashmir Government on Monday ordered the transfers of eight Inspector Generals of Police and six Deputy Inspector Generals of Police.

    According to the order, S P Vaid, Inspector General of Police (IGP) Crime and Railways, has been shifted as IGP Home Guards and Civil Defence, J-K. IGP (Kashmir) S M Sahai will be the new IGP Crime and Railways. IGP (Operations) North Kashmir B Srinivas has been transferred as IGP (Kashmir) in place of Sahai. IGP CID Dilbagh Singh will take over as IGP Traffic. Mohammad Amin Shah, IGP Traffic, has been posted as IGP, Forensic Science Laboratory and Telecommunications. IGP (Home Guards and Civil Defence) L T Mohanti has been posted as IGP Human Rights. IGP FSL and Telecommunication Ravinder Kotwal has been transferred as MD, Police Housing Corporation. Farooq Ahmad, MD, Police Housing Corporation has been transferred and posted as IGP CID.

    Meanwhile, DIG Railways Niyaz Mehmood has been transferred as DIG South Kashmir. DIG Central Kashmir Abdul Subhan Lone has been transferred as DIG Armed Police, Kashmir; Director, Civil Liaison, Home Department, DIG K K Saini has been transferred as DIG Rajouri-Poonch in place of DIG Prithvi Raj Manhas. DIG Manhas has been transferred as DIG Home Guards and Civil Defence. DIG South Kashmir Munir Ahmad Khan has been posted as DIG Central Kashmir and DIG Armed Police Abdul Gani Mir has been transferred as DIG North Kashmir Range.
