James Franco to star in Danny Boyle’s film ‘127 Hours’
Actor James Franco will star in '127 Hours',Danny Boyle's follow-up to mumbai-based 'Slumdog Millionaire'.
Actor James Franco,best known for his role as Harry Osborn in ‘Spiderman’,will star in ‘127 Hours’,Danny Boyle’s follow-up to mumbai-based potboiler ‘Slumdog Millionaire’.
Franco,31,will play mountaineer Aron Ralston in the real life story,to be produced and distributed by Searchlight in partnership with Pathe.
The man-vs-nature story is about Ralston,who spent five days with his right forearm pinned under a boulder during a climb in May 2003. Ralston used a dull knife to amputate the limb,then scaled a 65-foot sheer wall and hiked out before flagging a family that gave him water and food. He was finally rescued by helicopter,Variety reported online.
Boyle,whose Slumdog Millionaire’ won eight Oscars last year,will begin shooting ‘127 Hours’ in March in Utah for a late 2010 release.
The film will reunited the ‘Slumdog’ team of scriptwriter Simon Beaufoy and producer Christian Colson.
Franco,who recently made an unlikely turn in ‘General Hospital’ has a number of movies including the ‘Your Highness’ and the Julia Roberts starrer ‘Eat,Pray,Love.’
