Under the aegis of Ludhiana unit of All India Ramgarhia Vishwakarma Federation, 286th birthday of great Sikh warrior of 18th century and founder of Ramgarhia Misl, Maharaja Jassa Singh Ramgarhia was celebrated here on Sunday with great enthusiasm in which people from all walks of life participated. Surinder Singh Riat, state working president, and Jagtar Singh Bhambra, president of Ludhiana unit of All India Ramgarhia Vishwakarma Federation welcomed the delegates and participants and threw light on the heroic deeds of the great Sikh warrior, Jasssa Singh Ramgarhia, who conquered Delhi and hoisted victory flag on Lal Quilla. Maharaja constructed ‘Ram Rauni Quilla’ which later came to be known as “Ram Garh Quilla.” As Jassa Singh head of the “Ram Garh” Quilla meant to safeguard the Harminder Sahib from invasion of Moughals, he became to be known as “Ramgarhia” sardar, added Jagtar Singh Bhambra.
