  • Expelled BJP leader and Public Accounts Committee chairman Jaswant Singh has convened the next meeting of the parliamentary panel on October 27. Biju Janata Dal MP B Mahtab confirmed this while talking to The Indian Express from New York.

The first PAC meeting was boycotted by the BJP-Shiv Sena MPs. Sena’s representative and Independent MP Sharad Joshi later said they would attend subsequent PAC meetings while BJP’s Rajya Sabha MP Shanta Kumar said the PAC’s boycott “could not go on for ever”.

BJP’s Yashwant Sinha and Gopinath Munde have been non-committal on whether they would attend the next PAC meeting.

Jaswant had also constituted various sub-committees under various heads in the first PAC meeting, but they have not met so far.

Samajwadi Party’s Rewati Raman Singh said he would raise this issue in the October 27 meeting. “We need to decide the future agenda of the parliamentary panel,” he said.
