Hollywood actress Jennifer, who will next be seen in the movie 'Invention of Lying', says that even in real life she doesn't like to tell the truth if it is going to hurt someone close to her.

The 37-year-old actress admits that she is a compulsive lair as sometimes it is easier not to tell the truth, as reported.

"I would not even attempt to go one day without lying. What if someone asks you how you are and you have to stop and tell them how you are really feeling? You would never get through the day. No, I have to lie. I think we all do," Garner said.

The American beauty, who has two daughters with actor-husband Ben Affleck, says she often tells lies to avoid hurting her loved one's feelings.

"I am a horrible liar. I can't do it. Even if I have your birthday present and your birthday is not until November, and I get a present, I have to tell you. I can keep a secret if you need me to, but otherwise, it doesn't work out. But I would lie to save somebody's feelings," she added.
