Singer-actress Jennifer Lopez has denied reports that she was in the run to replace 'American Idol' judge Paula Abdul. Abdul had recently hinted that she was not too keen to return to the show and had not signed a contract with Idol producers to return for season 8 of the FOX hit singing competition,fuelling reports that Lopez was to replace her,People online reported. But the 'Waiting for Tonight' hitmaker,who recently wrapped up her latest movie 'The Backup Plan' in New York,has termed reports as "false". "The rumor of Jennifer Lopez throwing herself in the ring to take over for Paula Abdul is completely false. Jennifer loves Idol but just as a fan. She just wrapped the feature film 'The Backup Plan',due out January 2010,and will release an album then as well," a representative for Lopez said.
