J K Cement on Monday posted around 25 per cent rise in net profit during the October-December quarter at Rs 54.38 crore on improved sales.
The Kanpur-based cement maker had clocked Rs 43.52 crore net profit in the corresponding quarter last fiscal, it said in a BSE filing.
Net sales of the company, which has 7.5 million tonnes per annum cement-making capacity, rose to Rs 687 crore during the quarter under review compared to Rs 615 crore a year ago.
Total expenses also increased to Rs 585 crore from Rs 527 crore.
JK Cement's scrips today settled at 323.25apiece, up 0.14 per cent in the BSE over the previous closing.
