In the wake of increased militant threats and with Assembly polls round the corner , the J-K Crime Branch of Police will soon have more dog squads to help search militants and explosives, as also with crime investigations in the region. Forty dog squads have been sanctioned by the state Government, official sources said.
The state Crime Branch of Police, which had been facing a severe crunch of dog squads, is expected to be relieved after getting the new squads. The Crime Branch, at present, has only five dog squads in Jammu, sources said.
