Job insecurity ‘increasingly forcing employees to drink’

One in eight said their drinking had soared as they were suffering clinical depression triggered by the economic crisis. Also one in five women admit their drinking has increased by almost 50 per cent over the recommended limit of two to three units a day as they fight to keep their jobs.

The YouGov poll quizzed 3,600 adults. It also found that more than a quarter of bosses know the boozing is going on,the ‘Daily Express’ reported.

Phil Bell,from insurer RSA,was quoted by the leading British tabloid as saying,”Employers need to look at how they look after their staff so that they don’t end up with a drunken workforce.”
