“I was in my constituency on Saturday. I came back to Kolkata today evening with my election certificate,” said a jubilant Roy. The actor lamented about not getting time to spend with her family as she had a couple of interviews scheduled for the evening. “I haven’t met Didi (Mamata Banerjee) as yet but I have spoken to her over the phone,” said Roy. She added that she planned to have dinner with her family and enjoy the day before heading back to work from Monday.
Tarun Mandal: SUCI, Joynagar
Mandal reached Kolkata on Sunday morning to meet his party general secretary Nihar Mukherjee who apprised him of his duties as an elected MP. Apart from meeting other party members Mandal said the best moment was the time when he met other winners like Tapas Pal at Mamata Banerjee’s residence.
Sougata Roy: Trinamool, Dum Dum
This veteran Trinamool leader did not spend a moment at home on Sunday morning. At first, he went to meet a colleague whose mother had expired and since then Roy has been taking part in victory rallies one after another. “It is only the first day and the feeling has not quite sunk in,” Roy said.
