Julia Roberts aimed to be a vet

Roberts aimed to be vet,but gave up after finding science to be too tough.

Oscar-winning actress Julia Roberts aimed to be a vet before embarking upon a career in Hollywood.

The 42-year-old actress wanted to fulfill her dream by helping animals and becoming a vet but was unable to make it as she belongs to a business class family,Contactmusic reported.

“I wanted to be a vet. I love animals,but then I discovered how hard science can be. My parents and siblings are all actors,so I grew up around it,” Roberts said.

However,the ‘Eat,Pray,Love’ star has no regrets that she could not fulfill her dreams and started acting instead. “It’s a great way to observe human behaviour and how people react to things. It’s like grown-up pretend. My daughter does it all day,I just get paid for it,” Roberts added.

The actress is also involved with environmental issues which is her greatest concern besides her kids. “My husband and I spend most of the year away from Hollywood in California,where we support Heal The Bay,a non-profit organisation dedicated to keeping Southern California’s coastal waters clean,” Roberts said.

“I also drive a biodiesel car and we compost everything. It’s a big commitment with three kids,but there’s so much valuable waste,you sort of have to,” she said.
