  • While the Lok Sabha Secretariat is caught up in the cash-for-vote controversy and other serious issues like the onset of the next Parliament session, there is another issue that is weighing on their minds. Matters are getting out of hand at the Lok Sabha channel ever since CEO Bhaskar Ghose quit in June. This month has started on the worst possible note for the channel in which Speaker Somnath Chatterjee takes keen interest. Despite well-known theatre personality and AIR/Doordarshan veteran Sunit Tandon in the saddle, some 16 people have quit the channel across all sections in what is a workforce of not more than 60 people. Still more resignations are said to be in the line. While Ghose was mandated to run the channel with a ‘lean’ staff, it seems it will soon be famished, say insiders.
