Currently, he is training under Hemant Kinikar, Pawan Kulkarni and Girish Kulkarni at PYC Hinduja Club.

The family, says the mother, has been sacrificing a lot and facing hardships for Digvijay's dream. While the father stays in Baramati, the rest of the family has taken a small one bedroom place on rent at Maharshinagar. "A big chunk of our budget is diverted to Digvijay's cricket expenses. It becomes very difficult sometimes. We want him to become a big cricketer one day," says his mother Shobha Deshmukh, adding, that the son is completely focused and is sincere-much like his character in the movie. "He is an introvert by nature and does not waste his time unnecessarily," Shobha said.

As of now, the family is happy that neighbours and relatives recognise them as "Digvijay's parents" and are all praises for the Kai Po Che team, especially director Abhishek Kapoor. "They have been very nice to us. We did not allow him to work in the film for money; it is not important. In future too, if he gets any offers wherein he has to shoot only during the school holidays, we might agree," she added.
