I'm told the organisers went and apologised to Usha and I think we should put an end to the issue: Kalmadi

Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President Suresh Kalmadi regretted P T Usha's ill-treatment during the 49th Open Athletics Meet in Bhopal and said such incidents should not happen again.

"I have spoken to the Athletics Federation of India secretary general Lalit Bhanot, who in turn talked to the organisers. I'm told the organisers went and apologised to Usha and I think we should put an end to the issue," Kalmadi said.

"We should ensure that in future, she -- no athlete for that matter -- is treated in this manner," Kalmadi said. Usha was so upset with her accommodation at the Sports Authority of India hostel that she was in tears, criticising the SAI officials for their apathy.

The SAI officials and the state government blamed each other for the fiasco and Usha was eventually shifted to a posh hotel on Tuesday.
