Kanpur lawyer commits suicide,blames minister,district admn

Though senior police officials admitted that Mishra’s name has been mentioned in the letter,they denied any link between the minister and Yadav’s suicide.

Yadav’s daughter Gunjan told the media that her mother,Uma,a primary school teacher at Farrukhabad,had been suspended four months ago. “My father was worried that the district officials were unwilling to reinstate my mother,” she said. Gunjan said Yadav was disturbed for the past few weeks.

“On Wednesday evening,he went inside his room and as hours later he did not come out of the room we went inside and were shocked to find him hanging from the ceiling fan,” she said.

Kanpur DIG Ashok Mutha Jain said,“Though the name of Anant Mishra is mentioned in the suicide note,any link between the suicide and the minister is yet to be established.” He pointed out that the suicide note had been written on January 18.

“As per the preliminary reports,Yadav’s wife had been suspended and he was worried over the fact,” he added. The police official maintained that the reason behind the suspension of Yadav’s wife is yet to be confirmed. The DIG claimed that prima facie it appeared a case of suicide,but the cause of death would be ascertained only after the post-mortem report is available on Thursday.

Circle Officer,Kotwali,Sameer Saurabh too maintained that Yadav had mentioned both Mishra and Farrukhabad district administration in his suicide note.

“However,whether the suicide note was written by him or not is yet to be confirmed,” he added.

The CO claimed that initial investigations revealed that the advocate was tense about the his wife’s suspension which appears to be the main cause behind the suicide.
