For actor-cum-singer Karamjit Anmol, this is a dream come true or as he says, “It is like actually like living a dream.”
And why not for Anmol will now be seen in much talked about and much awaited flick “West is West” which is a sequel to internationally acclaimed Om Puri-starer “East is East”. Directed by Andy De Emmony, the film stars Om Puri, Linda Bassett, Jimi Mistry, Emil Marwa, Lesley Nicol, Ila Arun and Vijay Raaz.
The film traces a journey of 60-year-old George, played by Om Puri, who along with his son, Sajid travels from Salford England to rural Pakistan. Anmol says, “I had auditioned for the film and though it may sound clichéd but I was just keeping my fingers crossed. And when I did get the call I simply could not believe it. My role is not too big but the fact that I am part of a project like this and that I will be acting along side living legend like Om Puri is a dream come true for me.”
Anmol will play the character of Om Puri’s nephew in this film that will be shot in Punjab, India. This film also has internationally acclaimed sufi singer, Sain Zahoor sing two songs for this film.
Anmol shot to fame as a comedian along side Bhagwant Mann in acting Jugnu Mast Mast, Jungu Hazir Hain and then Jugnu Kehenda Hai. This talented singer has been singing since he was student of plus two and launched his first album called Aashiq Bhaaji.
