Gandhi began his two-day visit of Karnataka with an address to youth Congress workers.

In a frontal attack on the BJP government in Karnataka,Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Wednesday said it was “number one” in corruption and illegal mining and asked people to work towards unseating it.

Addressing youth workers in Bangalore,Udupi and Bijapur,Gandhi said,”Bangalore which was ahead in IT,ahead in progress,is today ahead in corruption, ahead in illegal mining.”

“You have to change this,” he told Congress workers, while asking them to build the party anew to bring it back to power in the state.

Gandhi, who began his two-day visit of Karnataka with an address to youth Congress workers at Bijapur in northern part of the state, also asked them to make the public aware of the “corrupt” practices of BJP government by campaigning in rural areas.

In a word of advice to party leaders,he asked them to sink their differences and strengthen the party through a united campaign. He said now the party has decentralised power and many problems would be solved at the state level itself.

In Udupi,he said youth, particularly women, have the capacity to bring changes in the country’s political scenario and referred to the corruption indulged in by the BJP government.
