Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan said he is unaware of the request. “I am not aware of this but the police may have asked them to do so as security of Ajmal Kasab during the trial is paramount at this moment.”
A heavy security cordon has been thrown around the jail ever since Kasab was lodged there. The Indo Tibetan Border Police and Mumbai Police personnel guard the jail round-the-clock, with vantage points in nearby buildings also having been secured.
