
Mumbai Police Commissioner D Sivanandan said he is unaware of the request. “I am not aware of this but the police may have asked them to do so as security of Ajmal Kasab during the trial is paramount at this moment.”
A heavy security cordon has been thrown around the jail ever since Kasab was lodged there. The Indo-Tibetan Border Police and Mumbai Police personnel guard the jail round the clock, with vantage points in nearby buildings also having been secured.
The 20 km monorail project, the first in the country, is being constructed by a joint venture of Malaysia based Scomi and Larsen and Toubro at a cost of Rs 2,460 crore. Work will be done at five places: Saibaba Road, Mint Colony, Wadala, Bhakti Park and R C Marg.
The Chinchpokli station would be coming up near the Arthur Road Jail.
