Kate Winslet set for small screen return
Winslet is set to comeback to TV as she will appear in a small screen version of novel 'Mildred Pierce'.
Hollywood actress Kate Winslet is set to make a comeback to television as she will appear in a small screen version of James M Cain’s novel ‘Mildred Pierce’.
The ‘Titanic’ star began her acting career on British TV in the 1990s before breaking into Hollywood movies rosing to stardom.
The 34-year-old beauty is returning to the small screen in a mini-series of ‘Mildred Pierce’,playing a proud single mother in Depression-era Los Angeles,Contactmusic reported.
Helmed by Ilene Landress of ‘The Sopranos’ fame and scripted by Odd Haynes and Jon Raymond,it will be produced for television network HBO with shooting expected to start in New York in April.
Joan Crawford starred in the 1945 film adaptation,which won her an Academy Award for Best Actress.
