Supporting the demand for a plebiscite to resolve the Kashmir issue,Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann today asked leaders in the Valley to keep away from the dialogue with New Delhi.
“Kashmiri leaders should not accept the offer of talks by the Government of India as it is a trap for their political death,as dialogue was used as a weapon to eliminate the Sikh and Naga leadership in the past,” he told reporters here on Thursday.
The Sikh and Naga leadership lost popularity, positions and support after entering into dialogue with the Government. Similarly, talks would be used as a weapon to degrade Kashmiri leadership,he said.
Demanding a CBI probe into the massacre of 35 Sikhs at Chittisinghpora in Anantnag district nine years ago,he blamed the Army for the massacre “to prove to the then US President Bill Clinton that Muslim militants were behind the inhuman act”.
