Bathinda MP Harsimrat Kaur Badal today exhorted the people, especially members of Panchayati Raj Institutions, to keep a vigil on the quality of public projects executed in their villages.
Addressing public rallies during Sangat Darshan programmes in Barkandi, Ganga, Kaur Kothe Singh, Mehma Bhagwana, Kothe Sandhuan, Kothe Phulla Singhwala, Kothe Chet Singhwala and Bhuchokalan villages here today, she claimed that she was getting projects worth crores of rupees sanctioned for the Bathinda Parliamentary constituency from Punjab as well as the Union Government and it was imperative that money sanctioned for the projects was utilised properly
She said in the last 62 years nobody tried to ascertain the cause of salinity of water in Malwa region.
She added that Sukhbir Singh Badal had promised that by the end of October 2010, all 560 villages of Bathinda Parliamentary constituency would be provided with an RO system or double ultra-filter system. She said orders have been issued to provide the RO system in the urban areas as well.
Stressing on the need of generating awareness, Harsimrat said cancer, if detected at an initial stage, is curable.
She said that her campaign to organise medical camps have detected over 10 cases of breast cancer and she is happy that 10 lives could be saved by providing timely treatment.
