Kerala ministers declare assets

Industries Minister and IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty has more than 14 acres of land in various parts of Malappuram district

In the first such initiative in Kerala,the Congress-led UDF ministry members on Saturday made public their assets with Chief Minister Oommen Chandy declaring that he owns 13.25 cents of land and his wife and son had over Rs 20 lakh in bank deposits.

Chandy owns land in Poojappura in the state capital while his wife Mariamma Oommen and son Chandy Oommen had deposits of over Rs 20 lakh in different banks,according details of assets posted on the official website.

Besides 38 gms of gold jewellery,Mariamma also owns a compact sedan car.

The value of the land and other property was not disclosed.

Industries Minister and IUML leader P K Kunhalikutty has more than 14 acres of land in various parts of Malappuram district and commercial buildings. Some of the properties are registered in his wife’s name.

Finance and Law Minister K M Mani owns more than seven acre of land in Meenachal area of Kottayam district and cash deposits worth Rs 4 lakh in various banks. He also owns a Mitsubishi Lancer,Toyota Innova and has 250 gms of gold jewellery.

The lone woman and tribal member of the cabinet P K Jayalakshmi has a house and 25 sovereigns of gold in her possession,besides Rs 2 lakh recurring deposit. She said her father owned 13 acre in the tribal belt of Wayanad district.

Kerala Congress-B leader and Forest Minister K B Ganesh Kumar has about 80 acre of land in Thiruvananthapuram and Kollam districts. He also owns a flat in Chennai.
