BY promising a 0.33 paid up FSI’ scheme, on the lines of Mumbai, for the city, BJP rebel candidate Ujwal Keskar from Kothrud constituency has made it clear that this Assembly election, he is targeting middle and upper middle class voters.
According to this scheme, old buildings are demolished for new constructions which ensure bigger flats for the earlier occupants.
“The middle and upper middle class voters are not organised hence, development plans related to them are not incorporated in party manifestos. I have decided to target this vote bank,” Keskar said. He said that he would strive hard to implement his old agenda — 350 sq ft flats for slum dwellers.
Keskar, who decided to contest polls as a rebel candidate after the BJP denied him the Khadakwasla and Shivajinagar tickets, said that although his election sign is different, he will always remain loyal to the Sangh ideology. “Sometimes a person is forced to take bitter decisions in life,” Keskar said. He said that he was confident of winning by a margin of at least 10,000 votes. “Voters here are educated and politically mature to understand who will put in efforts for the development of the constituency,” he said.
About his campaign strategy, Keskar said that he will take out house-to-house campaign rallies. He has also set up a call centre with two telephone lines and four volunteers to address the queries of voters. “The call centre will work between 10 am and 8 pm and voters can seek help regarding their voter-id cards, polling stations, the constituency and so on,” Keskar said. The call centre numbers are 64004141 and 64004242.
