Abu Basher, a key accused in the Ahmedabad blasts case, was on Thursday brought to the capital by Gujarat Police to verify "certain links and leads" as he had allegedly stayed in a house in New Delhi with terror mastermind Abdus Subhan Qureshi alias 'Tauqeer', who is also wanted for the Delhi blasts.

Delhi to verify certain links and leads," Director General of

Gujarat Police P C Pande said.

A SIMI activist, Basher, who was nabbed in Uttar Pradesh last month in connection with the Ahmedabad serial blasts, is allegedly also involved in the terror strike in Lumbini Park in Hyderabad last year.

According to police, Basher, who had worked as a teacher in a Hyderabad-based madrassa for almost two years from 2005, had stated during his interrogation that he had stayed with Tauqeer in a house in Zakir Nagar in New Delhi in July.

Tauqeer has been named by the Gujarat police as being one of the masterminds behind the Ahmedabad terror strike.

He is also accused of having sent the threatening emails for terror group Indian Mujahideen from Mumbai.
