Khadki Cantonment Board (KCB) in a rare case has rejected the promotion of one of its employees to the supervisory post of chief revenue superintendent on the ground that he had been irregular in attending to his duties.

Stopping senior clerk R F Gawade’s promotion, the board noted that both the posts of chief revenue superintendent (CRS) and chief account (CA) involve “high pressure work environment and require regular attendance and reliability’’ an since Gawade was not regular in his job he couldn’t be promoted to the post.

“Gawade was considered for the post of CRS,but due to his repeated ill health and blood pressure problem,he is not a suitable candidate to handle important and sensitive post of CRS,” noted the minutes of the meeting which was held last month.
