External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid on Thursday congratulated US Secretary of State-designate John Kerry and said he looked forward to working closely with him as the two countries continue to strengthen their ties.
"We are confident with your leadership, we will continue to strengthen our partnership, not only for the development and prosperity of our two peoples, but also as a pillar of stability amidst the global and regional challenges," Khurshid said in a letter.
He added, "Our achievements, in no small measure, are attributable to the vision and guidance you have provided to our partnership, both as a member of the Senate India Caucus and as Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Your experience and leadership in the US Congress have always been held in the highest esteem." He wished outgoing US Secretary of State Hillary Clinton for "continuing success in whatever you choose to do next".
