The UT Administration has submitted a compliance report to the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) along with the proof of payment of Rs 3 lakh compensation which was paid to the family of Khushpreet. The administration made the payment to Lakhbir Singh,the father of Khushpreet,on April 4. Five-year-old Khushpreet Singh,son of a dairy owner,was kidnapped and subsequently murdered by his neighbour on December 21,2010 near his house in Burail. His body was recovered from Mohali. Khushpreet was not released despite his family paying Rs 4 lakh in ransom. The police had arrested Sukhdev Singh,Gurvinder Singh and Nand Kishore in connection with the case.
