Kirori welcome to contest on Congress symbol: Gehlot

Describing Meena as the man who helped put an to BJP rule in the state,he said he was welcome to contest from Dausa on a Congress symbol.

Meena,an Independent MLA,relinquished a ministerial berth in the previous Vasundhara Raje Government in protest against what he called her “bad governance”.

Soon after the Assembly polls last year when the Congress had failed to get a clear majority in the 200-member state assembly,Meena and his wife Golma Devi had supported the party along with other independent MLAs to help form the Ashok Gehlot Government.

Golma Devi,a Minister of State in Gehlot Government resigned last week over alleged rifts between the Congress and her husband Kirori Lal Meena who is understood to have proposed his own candidates in seven parliamentary seats to which Congress did not agree.
