Rasika Koda, father of former Chief Minister Madhu Koda, has written a letter to Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee, who is also the Leader of the House, claiming that some people are trying to “malign” his son’s image. The letter, dated November 10, also alleges that the Income Tax department and the Enforcement Directorate had confined his son to his official residence.
“My son is unwell. He was recently operated upon and a stone was removed from his urinary track. And yet, the officials are grilling him. No body is allowed to meet him,” wrote Rasika, urging Mukherjee to intervene in the matter.
Rasika’s letter, written in English, stated, “He is a Member of Parliament and a former chief minister. Some people due to animosity want to link his name with some businessmen and industrialists.”
The ED had filed an FIR against Koda and eight others, including his associates Binod Sinha, his bother Vikas Sinha and Sanjay Choudhary under the Money Laundering Act on October 9 and the IT department conducted nationwide raids on 70 premises in connection with the case on October 31.
