Uday Pathak,the main accused in the quadruple murder of four men from Kurar,has finally revealed the location where buried the murder weapon. Last week,the Kurar police recovered the knife that Pathak used to kill the four men from Kasam Baug atop the hillock in Malad (East).
According to Additional Commissioner of Police (North) Ramrao Pawar,the police officers recovered the knife about a kilometre away from the spot where the bodies were found. Pathak revealed that he had buried the knife under a rock near the slope of the hill. Pathak knew well that the weapon had his fingerprints and wanted to get rid of any proof that could lead the police to him. He also knew that if he was get checked at the gates of the jungle,he could get arrested, said Pawar.
The Kurar police arrested Pathak on June 22 after the Mumbai Police Crime Branch nabbed him from Varanasi and handed him over to the police. The recovery of the weapon will make the case against Pathak and his accomplices watertight. We are now finding out from where Pathak had obtained the weapon. We have also found out that all four murders were committed by the same weapon, added Pawar. The police are now in the process of preparing a chargesheet in the case.
Meanwhile,Pathaks wife is still in his hometown in Uttar Pradesh. The entire area of Kurar is still up in arms and if Pathaks wife comes back,it is possible that she would be attacked. We are ready to give her protection, said an officer from Kurar police station.
