With the arrest of one of the accused in the recent blasts at the Inter-State Bus Terminus here that killed three persons and injured 12, Punjab Police on Sunday claimed the Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) was responsible for the strike.

SSP Ishwar Singh said Pakistan-based KZF commander Ranjeet Singh Neeta and Canada-based Balwinder Singh Posi masterminded the blast and motivated a local criminal to execute the task. Initially, ruling out sabotage in the incident, police had said that some inflammable substance inside the bus had caught fire due to the intense heat. Though there were casualties in the April 28 blast, the second blast at the ISBT on May 24 could not be properly engineered by the accused and it failed, the SSP said.
